Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-11

Scope

This policy describes how OpenMuse (openmuseai.com) handles information when you use the OpenMuse mobile app, desktop app, web app, and the services on openmuseai.com. OpenMuse does not sell personal information and does not use an advertising identifier to track you across apps.

Information we process

  • Account information. The email address you use to register or sign in, and the session credential that keeps you signed in. Authentication is handled by the service deployed at openmuseai.com.
  • Device identifier. The app creates an identifier on the device so your account can tell this phone or computer apart, and so a paired Desktop can recognize it.
  • Content you submit. Documents and messages you create, upload, or sync are stored in your OpenMuse cloud or on the Desktop you paired, according to the action you take.
  • Voice. While you hold the voice control, the app uses the microphone and turns speech into editable text on that device. The recording is not uploaded to a speech-recognition service. Only text you later send leaves the device, and only because you sent it.
  • Paired pages. After you connect a Desktop, the app may open the workspace page provided by that Desktop. The page comes from the device you selected.

The app does not request location, contacts, photos, camera, or phone permission, and it does not collect that information.

Permissions

  • Network: used to sign in, sync a workspace, and connect to a Desktop you selected.
  • Microphone: requested only when you use voice input, to turn speech into text on the device. The app explains this purpose before the system permission prompt.

Use and retention

This information is used to create and maintain your account, recognize your session across devices, store your workspace, and perform voice input that you start. Session credentials stay in the device secure store. Account, device-registration, and workspace data stay on the openmuseai.com service until you delete the account or the content, or the service deletes them at your request.

Sharing

OpenMuse does not sell personal information to advertisers. Your content is sent to the OpenMuse service you are using and to a Desktop you explicitly connect. It is otherwise disclosed to an authority only when the law requires that disclosure.

Your rights

You can sign out in the app, stop using the microphone, and delete content you created. To access, correct, or delete account information, contact us at https://github.com/openmuseai/openmuse/issues and include the email address on the account.

Children

OpenMuse is not directed to children under 14, and it does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

Updates are published on this page, and the effective date above changes with them. Continuing to use the service means you have seen the updated policy.
